79 Jota LHS indicators not working.

So I did a long ride the other day and when nearly home the left hand side indicators stopped working.
Right side is fine, all four bulbs are good.
I took the switch apart and gave it a clean-up, but no joy. Even shorting across the solder joints in the switch didn't work so I don't think it's the switch.
Flasher unit is ok as right side indicators work ok.
Circuit is good from switch to bullet connector under rear of seat.

Could this be an earth issue maybe? Currently squinting at the wiring diagram which is slowly eroding my will to live.
Suggestions gratefully received.

I had this before where the rear indicator bulb had moved in its holder even though it looked like it was seated.
Start with the simple things first check bulb connections, then wiring.

Agree - simple thing first: a tst wire to check earths, then + and - leads from a/the battery direct to the indicators to make sure they work. If good, use a multimeter at all junctions in the circuit.

I got over my recent anxiety, I replaced the lot using the local bike rewiring bloke. Expensive but well worth it for that nice warm feeling.

If I ever see one of those plastic shielded generic auto shop crimp connectors on a bike I'm working on I immediately grab the cutters, wire strippers and pro crimpers, and finally, decent brass connectors that crimp the wire AND the insulation. Then silicone insulation shrouds or shrink tubing (with a hair dryer ... to quote Frank Zappa's central skerrrrutinizer ... again).
