well that is total bollox to start with, same problem for me, first cable, a Venhill item (via the now defunct Slaters) didnt work, got Venhill to make a "special" still didnt work, then took a box of clocks and a front wheel drive to them with the outer length required and said "disregard any data you have on file, make me a cable wthat fits this and this and is XYZ long", charged (second time ) for a special and still didnt work, solved the problem by the donation of a very old factory (new unused) cable with slightly tarnished ends from a great contact of many decades, even though back in the day (70's 80's 90's) I wasnt realy his customer. My understanding is that some have had trouble with nipples puling VERY prematurely on clutch cables, which wont affect me as I prefer hydraulic and am known for the lightest triple Laverda clutch pull on the planet.
I gave Venhill plenty of stick, started to embarras the ladies in reception,( who are all stuck up their own arse miserable old scroats) got no where in asking for money back in exchange for junk that is useless, they have never had a penny of my money since and wont ever in the future.
