880SFC with alternater question

Fire up bike for the first time in weeks, with alternator fitted, I'm get 16(ish) volts at idle and (15ish) volts straight out of the alternator eeminal, but not connected back to the battery.
Is this too much?
 
I only know what I have read but 14 and a smidge is usually the limit, whats it do with the lights on. This is usually read across the battery with it all connected and engine going.

It's alright, connected to battery, at 3000rpm I get 14.6, at idle 12.5 - 13.2ish. Auto specialist from car joint came and had a look ................ he says, that's perfect.
But got a sticky needle and seat .......... fuel pissing out of over flow, yet another job.
