A Damn Good Ride!

Had a great ride out to Lake Vyrnwy Dam, a great example of Victorian engineering that is both functional AND aesthetically pleasing. A magnet for many bikers on a beautiful, sunny day but of the dozens of bikes there mine was unsurprisingly the only Laverda and indeed, the only classic motorcycle. It may have been coincidental, but it was photographed 3 times in next to no time whilst the "moderns", which were largely of the tall, Adventure style variety, drew little attention. Beauty is of course in the eye of the beholder but the words functional and aesthetically pleasing once again come to mind. But, yes of course, I'm biased - guilty as charged!

Nice photos, very interesting dam/construction. Question: Did those who took photos of your Laverda know what they were looking at? The comments I often hear are, " Nice bike, who makes it? I've never seen one of those. The one that always amazes me is "3 cylinders, eh, how does that work? ...FFS

Yes, the people taking photographs, were all (to be diplomatic) men of a certain age and two knew exactly what they were looking at. The third knew about the Laverda Jota but had only seen magazine articles on the RGS and had never actually seen one in the metal before. So on a day out with his family he was delighted to so unexpectedly see one in such a random way rather than say, at a classic bike show.

Usually here in Germany no one takes notice of my RGS or my SFC, but during my vacation 4 times I was ask about my Beta Alp 200 „ what a nice little IMG_0413.jpegBike“

Well the cans are Jota anyway! Great setting!

Two Jota's on the A939 Old Military Road going North, looked like they were having a good time today.
Perfect corners, great tarmac and nice dry weather.
Anyone on here??
I was in a campervan going south.
