A very nice original SF in New Mexico

Don't think that's the original airbox - looks like a fabricated sheet metal replacement to conceal the battery area. There are better ways to fit pod filters to an SF - and retain the airbox (albeit with some mods to the unseen area).

Very original looking bike - The US seems to have a lot of very original SFs that come up for sale. In Oz most have lost things like junction boxes and original mufflers - and various other bits that fail over time.

Pretty original. Not the original airbox, is a fabricated sheet metal thing. The bars are higher than came on my SF, which also didn't have the grip parts that are showing, make the cables go over the instrument bracket too. Starter clutch or starter motor noise when it fired up. I cannot believe someone had that bike without putting more miles on it. We had a pile of rusted out SF mufflers at Stanco that had been replaced under warranty, it must have been in a very dry place. Lots of things point to mileage being genuine.

If i were stateside, i would buy it (lucky I'm not cos the missus would kill me :ROFLMAO: ). Nothing there that a good fettle and decent knowledge of the marque couldn't deal with. That is indeed a bargain!

Lee, chances are it originally came with the much higher bars that were the norm for the US market someone at some point changed them to lower sensible bars.
My SF2 came from the States with the same ‘bars on: similar low mileage with original tyres and chain/sprockets etc. TBH the dip in the bar ends made for painful wrists so I swapped them out for a set of Darmah ‘bars.

Definitely not original Euro/Australian market SF bars. You can see the splines in the centre section - shape also looks quite different. My SF1 bars were very comfortable.
