Absolute nightmare - even here in Franken (Northern Bavaria) there are many smaller breweries that fill most of their beer into barrels.
After inns are closed and there are no festivals, there is no demand and the barrels are now reaching the end of their best-before date.

Of course you could still drink the good beer, but sales of "old" beer are not allowed.
That is why these beer kegs are dumped into the wastewater.

Same in Great Britain. Almost 50 million liters of draft beer have to be destroyed due to closed pubs, as calculated by the British Beer and Pub Association according to the BBC.

What a waste!

But beer is healthier than the microplastics and drug residues that can already be detected in drinking water.
In the end, this also flows into rivers or the sea.

Maybe after reopening, restaurants have to add the prefix BEER- to every fish dish. "Beer-fish soup", "grilled beer-fish",.......

Sometimes 80% of our forest-trees are dying off due to long-term drought caused by the bark beetle.
It's just a constant change, in the past all mountains / hills were not forested because there were many flocks of goats and sheep.

Our local rather than pouring it away offered it free of charge for a donation to their charity - you bought your own container - I used Milk cartons - had the choice of cider bitter or lager - was very popular

Yesterday I drove through an area, Torrington NSW, that was regenerating after bush fires.

Didn’t see any goats, but the sheep were definitely the ones that started the fires....... as they raised their smug little faces from the grass and spied me, they looked as guilty as all get out, almost sheepish.

The biggest threat to our forrests are the local forrestry department,
