Thanks for the forgiveness guys 🤣🤣

Funny, a CB1100R is on the imminent list
Had one some years ago and shouldn’t have let it go

Hi Kris,
Agree, keep it pure .

Mac, Had a C but now looking for a nice B as it's the one I always remember when I was young.
When looking at my first proper bike RD250LC in 80/81 there was a Ducati MHR on a turntable at one end of the showroom and the CB1100R-B at the other end. Only Gods were allowed to touch. I swore that one day I would have both. That day is coming! I hope :o)

I wasn’t a particular fan of the styling when it first came out, but now, 40 odd years later, and with failing eyesight it perhaps doesn’t look so bad (compared to many other hideous machines built during that period). I can recall proddie racing against them on my 500 twin back when I started in ‘83, and on a twisty circuit, it was possible to give the rider a run for their money. These days, like so many of these old bikes of dubious abilities back then, they seem to be like rocket ships in modern ‘classic’ racing.

Probably because it isn't difficult to find huge increases in HP from the std bikes, Andy. Even in the late 70s we could pretty much double the RWHP of a Kwaka Z by doing the basics (Yoshi./Moriwaki OS hi-comp pistons, cams, CR Keihins, pipe, basic porting).

We got 100 or so Rbs rushed to Australia in 1980 for our Castrol 6hr proddy race. They didn't come with the half fairings that you are probably familiar with. The fairings look better. Those early ones had a cam chain tensioner weakness that was fixed on later models. Rim size was also a limiting issue on them as well. I have been after an RD locally for a while now. Good luck with the chase. Ian

You might like this. Just the sound of kickstarting was great, crazy Vetter US Fairing as usual
Am I being fussy?
While topping the gearbox, the guy is talking about using Amsoil two-stroke oil once it's rebuilt.
In the gearbox? WTF?
The dental file tip was a goodie, for those using points, though.

Finding Dental Files might be hard. Must be the first time ever carb strips and blocked idle jets didnt happen. Fun to see and hear it run, though.
