aerosol grease

I used this aerosol Lithium based grease today which you spray from a "straw" into the rose linkages etc on my gear and brake pivots.

I couldn't help thinking this is a bit of a cheat..but is it an effective method to get grease in where it matters..?

I have been using this stuff for years, not so much on the bikes but on all the exposed threads, castellated nuts, camber adjustment plates and
anything I might ever need to take apart on my cars.
It stops most of the corrosion on these parts and saves time with wire brushes and release oil.
Ever spent time removing droplinks without destroying them and realising it took more time than the strut replacement itself.
Wiping off all the crud from a lower balljoint castellated nut to find a splitpin you can push out and a restricted access nut that isn't welded to
the hub carrier with corrosion saves time when you could be on your bike.

It's dirt cheap from Tool Station, where else would you buy arsehole grease.

on cars, I wrap all those things up with denso tape, such as track rod ends, ball joints, wishbone bolts and even leaf springs in their entirety.

...and spend hours removing it when replacement time comes around? :D

Been using aerosol greases for ages for "minor" applications such as brake and gearchange linkages.

Its a good idea, had my gear link seize twice over the years, thats a bit strong, get stiff to use is closer.Gets expensive buying cans of WD40 on a ride and throwing them away, hard to transport after the emergency work.Hasn't happened for a while,I don't wash it as much as I used to.
