Hi all
Hoping to get a puller to remove alternator
So I can replace it with my new system
I am in perth wa so I can arrange freight
Or whatever
If available to borrow/ trade  for the job then great
(45x1.5 thread)
Cheers

Another Perth Laverda owner comes out of the woodwork! Sorry can't help with an alternator puller, I got over that problem by changing alternators :D
Is it possible that we've met before in the long ago past? How long have you owned your lav?
Regards

A quick ebay search reveals - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUZUKI-SPECIALTY-TOOL-PART-09930-33730-LPT-Rotor-Puller-45mm-/141183784913?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20df3597d1 - if anyone is interested

I have got one you can borrow. I'm in Carine WA 6020.
I'm going away for a few days, but call me and lets work something out for the weekend.

I'm guessing he means alternator rotor puller.
The rotor has a large external thread for the puller to screw on to, and then you screw in a bolt in the centre of the puller which acts against the crank centre.
The bolt does the job of the axle you mention, but you still need the puller threaded on to the rotor to give the bolt something to work against.
So, no.

And be a little careful...I once had a puller which when doing up the centre bolt pulled itself right over the threads on the crank because it was too loose. Imagine the deep joy on thinking you have potentially just rubber ducked your crank. In fact was able to use a better fitting version with no ill effects. That puller now in retirement as have the new Red/Sachse jobbie which helpfully comes with a puller to suit.

he has been out of the woodwork for quite sometime actually Rob and he has even taken the time to visit us in QLD, dropping into the workshop last year

Davo doesn't have one as he has been Redaxed.

Davo pointed him to this forum so please be helpful.

My Jota has been Redaxed too, but not the 3C or any of my mates' bikes. So the puller still sees a bit of use.

I'll send a PM to "Aroundtoit" ... when I get around to it  :D

Edit (a bit later): PM sent

Thanks to all replies
Put note up and had a gent 3 km offer his
Which has done the job, thanks again
Certainly useful forum
Now currently fitting Redax unit which will
Be a new life for the girl, and allow me to
Ride with my light on which is fairly useful
At night!!!!!
Cheers
