Hello All, my name is Andy Breen. I wanted to introduce myself to the membership after joining a few years ago. I have been only reading through the vast topics and amount of knowledge here. I have been preparing to get a GT #1218 back together and back on the road after importing from Italy a few years ago so will have some questions I'm sure.

Welcome aboard Andy,
Plenty of good info here, even from the rivet counters (you know who you are). The Laverda Bible by Ian Faloon and the Green Book by Tim Parker I highly recommend.

Nowt wrong with a bit of rivet counting. Actually it usually occurs when someone advertises a bike for sale for big money claiming it is 100% correct when it obviously isn't. That's an open invitation ha ha!

Just make sure that the tank badge screws are correctly aligned and you are starting off with a win.
Bike looks great!
:) That's one of the things I think may need to be corrected. Are these the proper screws to secure the badges in the early GTs? Seems like they should be oval head plated.

Yes they were brass and slightly domed (at least all the ones I have seen are). Plus having them at awkward angles....!!!!:devilish:. The bike will vibrate more and not idle at all with the screws like that.
