Just finishing off small details on the 500 Alpino bought as a wreck a couple of years ago , now painted in cobalt blue and fully functioning.
1977 version originally registered in Spain in January 78 - pre balance shaft with several parts missing. interesting project. not really sure what the original colour was as under the initial red it was black, then silver, then gold, non of it applied particularly well.
Also as a side project I have designed / made the parts to fit Pazon ignition, considerably simpler than the original Bosch setup which seemed over complex.
Based on lost spark - one magnet on rotor - two emitters with double output coil.
original system had full advance at 3,000 rpm - which seems low on a bike that can rev to over 8,000
Suzuki SV 650 brake discs with alloy machined carriers, plus a few other mods..........
Original exhausts - not the best condition but will suffice until I find suitable cost effective replacements.
Mudguards bought from Tricor Andy in the UK - made on the old speedwell tooling. extremely well made and reasonable cost.
Painted finish as easy to maintain.
