Hello all, I'm Tony from New Zealand.
I have found this RGS which has been imported from Japan and I believe it is a Corsa.
Lots of work to do and some parts to source, but that's OK because I like bringing bikes from the dead.
It does turn over and has compression so I'm optimistic.
Does anyone know anything about the pipes that are on it? They are three separate pipes.

Yep, sure looks like a Corsa. For confirmation, look for a "CR" stamping on the front of the cylinder head cam chain tunnel, or near the LH rear lower engine mount.

Those pipes probably do nothing for performance.

But they probably sounded good! I think the Japanese like that sort of thing, there was a YouTube video of a guy who builds exhaust systems for 12-cylinder S class Mercedes that make them scream like F1 cars.

I wonder if he could make a system for the SL600?

Thanks for all your comments.

It does have CR stamped on the chain tunnel.

The tank does have some loose rust flakes inside, but I've fixed much worse. I'm pretty sure a liquid liner will fix it.

I thought those pipes would sound good as well, when I get it going I will probably try them, just to hear the noise :)

I'm doing my best not to play with it till I finish my current project (R100RS on the stand behind the Corsa) but I'm fighting the locking petrol cap. I have a full set of keys, but it's not budging. Is there an issue with these seizing up???

Afaik the petrol cap is a Fiat item and available in the market. Maybe others know exactly but I also can find out.
As others already said it is a rare Corsa, you are lucky to have one.

Squirt some penetrating oil into the lock barrel and let it do its stuff for a week. The penetrating liquid needs to seep through to the inner latch mechanism. When trying to unlock, push down on the cap to ease the pressure on the latch. These things do sieze with time, they need a regular dose of petrol from an over-filled tank to remain smooth...

I had an old Benelli Sei 750. It had the original exhaust down tubes but with crudely welded on mufflers, one for three cyls on each side. I bought a new system 6 into 1. Beautiful and sounds like, what I thought a Ferrari would sound like, if I ever heard one. Later I finally heard one.
Now I have a BMW K1600GTL 6cyl, that sounds just like a BMW K1600GTL.
