Not sure if this sad news has been offered. Just out at the international Norton rally, heard word the passing of legendary Laverda road racer club racer Mick Hart. A month ago . Another great guy in the Laverda history family.
Some of the numbers he clocked racing the little Honda CB160/175's were stellar. I met a few guys who raced against him and they reckoned that his skill was worth about 5 hp on them as his only had mostly labour thrown into the motor and the other fellows had big dollars thrown at them. He humbled quite a few racers with deep pockets.
Sounds like a top flight racer - love hearing stories of underpowered bikes slaying powermongers through riding skill (and a great handling bike like the SF2!). RIP.
Well that's sad news then. I went on a couple of good fangs with Mick, he on a 1200 and me on my SFC750 back in those days. He was quick back then.
Wouldn't have been much older than me. RIP Mick
Sorry to hear this ..... never met him but remember reading reports of his racing exploits aboard his 750 twin .... alongside David Francis ( Calere SF 750 ) , and Tom Quaye , who raced an 830 cc SF ........... Sad news .......
