Antipodean Cop Series Featuring a Laverda

I was musing on how to popularise Laverda with a younger generation, by means of a TV character. A friend suggested that he'd seen a cop show, from Australia or New Zealand, in which the main guy whizzed around on a Triple.
I tried Google, without success.
Ring any bells with anyone out there?

Nope, the only show with any bikes in it was called Solo 1 and that was about a bike cop on a white honda cop bike. Occasionally the bikies would turn up in oz shows doing evil deeds, usually riding randum dirtbikes. One bike is as good as any other, they had no idea.

To be fair, he did say "If my memory serves correctly there was an Oz (or Kiwi) cop series, way back when, that had the lead character whizzing around on a triple. Watched it after getting back from the pub,... in my youth"
Perhaps, we may draw our own conclusions?

The only two times I noticed Laverdas in TV shows, well 3 times were when whatshername, pommy actress stayed at a blokes house while touring Japan and she slept in a room with a lovely Laverda triple, joanna lumly. These 2 yank blokes in American pickers went to Italy and their local fixer rode a Laverda. They talked about, not seen I think, And when Malcome organised that Cole bloke to do a feature on Laverdas. O yer there is a web show from the TV show called Fast and Loud and Richard bought some blokes bike shop and massive bike museum somewhere in the USA, and while wandering about there was a Laverda in full view, it didn't get a mention at all. My bet, the host had never heard of Laverda and had no idea what it was. All those bikes are coming up for Auction at some point

I'm going to have to search further unless someone else knows and can prompt my recall; in the late nineties, the US Laverda importer loaned several Zane 750s to a stunt group for some Hollywood action movie - anyone remember that, which movie, any clips?

Don't forget the brief appearance of the 750SFC in The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Good resource here for searches like that search for Laverda in movies etc

My 3c and I were in a Toyota ad sometime in the late 90s, it was the series of Totota ads that futures a Puppet Yellow Chicken. Don't ask me why, that is from the Creatives. I was having a day off and I got a call from a mate who did what they call Stand By Props for Commercials, he supplied STUFF. His older brother is a big-time Armour in the Film industry and his younger brother picked up work from him. Apparently, the bike they were going to use dropped out and would I like to make $200 cash for a couple of hours work supplying and riding my bike, sure why not. So it was in a studio in the back of Chatswood and I needed to ride down the driveway on Que and dodge the puppet Chicken and ride away, easy Ha. Well, it was drizzling and they needed to time about 10 events that happened while filming down to the second. So that meant about 70 takes. Up and back and up and back for about 2 Flippen hours till I was thinking my clutch was getting hotter and hotter. It was an absolute pain in the arse. The next shot needed some scenery moved, they had a Dumy tree about 400mm thick that was in the way of the camera, this was where it got really dumb. This dumy tree was actually a cut-down 400mm thick gum tree about 3m tall and it must have weighed a couple of tons, so they started to use the Gantry Crain to move this vertical unbalanced log and they had no clue how to rig or sling this thing, it was swinging about in a crazy dangerous way. So I ended up giving them a hand to even up the double slings. There was not much practicality on view. It ended up far from interesting or glamorous. Hard way to make $200. I gave him a hand on a couple of other ads but it was not for me. Far to many wankers
