ANZAC DAY

Quite a big crowd on the headland next to Harbourd Digger Club in Sydney for the Anzac Day Flypast of the F35 at 9.15am, the jet then traversed the big march in Sydney and various other Anzac Day Events and then back to Newcastle. Lots of Fly pasts in Oz today.

Pretty good turnout at our local RSA this morning, despite a chilly breeze and the odd shower. The local politicians kept it short which is always appreciated...
There was quite a big queue for rum afterwards ;)

Saw them ever so briefly from outside the King St court, not much sky visible from there.

You would have heard more than seen, there was only 1. And I bet it passed a good dozen Events along its route. They're very busy showing as much support as possible today.

Spent a good while in Kanchanaburi (Thailand - 'River Kwai' area) last month. Learned a lot of truths about what it is to be human in extreme circumstances. One great source of information was a member of the Tourist Police I got chatting to as he was wandering around, an Aussie with a very detailed knowledge of Hellfire Pass and the horrific abuse of the ANZAC men. Whatever the nationality, whether winning, loosing or abusing or enduring - we must never forget what we are capable of.
May they rest in peace, and those that follow never repeat.
