The best I ever visited 👍
It's history is well worth delving into.
From private collection to national museum via workers occupation once the owners had fled to Switzerland. Basel, just across the Rhine to be precise. Hotel Euler where Gulbenkian, and my Grand Father, would stay.

1976 round of the Avon Roadrunner series ..... Roger Slater contributes towards the prize fund so it would seem ...... Ducati 900SS`s did quite well early on apparently , but I seem to recall that it was a dead engine start in these rounds , which tended to leave the Ducati riders jumping up and down on the kickstart , whilst the rest of the field disappeared around the first bend ....... may be wrong on this as I have seen pics of some starts where the Ducks seem to be getting away ok with the rest of the field , although Steve Trasler did once make a coment about the Bonneville being more than competitive at most rounds ( in the 750cc class ) , as long as it started first kick ...... ( which it usually did ..... ) ........

1976 IoM Production Machine TT ...... Laverda in third place ..... Slaters celebrate ....." For the person who will not accept second best " .... For the person who will be fairly happy to accept third best presumably , as far as the race went anyway .......

1974 just keeps on going on ....... I hope Giorgio managed to get hold of his Inter ....... and just look at the prices being asked for some stuff nobody really wants ........... ( the Venom probably the best of the bunch , although , as always , it depends who rebuilt it ..... ) ......

And that , as they say , is that ........ from me anyway ...... ( unless I can find anything else ) .......

What I will do now is arrange everything in date order , 1969 - 1983 ....... road tests , importer and dealer ads , International and Coupe d`Endurance race reports , Piero and Massimo interviews , and so on , all in their entirety , not just the cropped versions shown here , and various other articles and mentions , and print them all off ......... which may take a while because I``ve chucked everything back as I`ve found it .... ( in no particular order ) ............. oh well ......... something to do I suppose ......... 🙁 .........

Found some more .... 1982 ....... There was a wooden ? mock up of this shown ....... Came at a time when the company was looking around in several directions at once ........ Never came to anything obviously ........ Piero Laverda said some years later " Take a look at the Yamaha FZ750 ... it is very similar ..... when you aim for the same goal you use similar paths ....... If we had gone ahead , it would have been viewed as not only a copy of a Japanese engine , but an inferior copy ...." .......
