Hi Guys.

I can't find the tangs (release method) in the DMC(2) connector block... I have been poking around, but I but can't seem to free the wires.

Any hints or tips?

I need to tighten things up a bit.

Cheers, Paul

Paul,

The connector body is 2-piece, one half slides sideways to release the pin security block. You can then access the tangs in the normal manner and pull out the wire with the connector (hopefully) still attached.

Look for an arrow on the connector body.

Thanks very much Piet.

I did spot that feature earlier and slid things sideways, but to no avail. I thought I should ask before I wrecked things or went total Hulk mode. 😃

Armed with your knowledge, I went back in, with a bit more force. After half an hour of poking, swearing and having reading glasses slide off my nose, all came good.

It turned out that within the block were some generic female connectors that do no belong in the AMP block and they were preventing the sideways slide.

I bow, with grateful humility, before your appraised munificence.

Paul 👍

Paul,

In case you need new connectors, they are the same as used in DIN auto radio plugs! you should be able to find them at your local auto spares supplier.

I remember, once I had a problem in Spa with the connectors you helped by takind one out of your radio 👍
