Thanks Maurice.Hi Paul I have a 500 with original ND coils and took out the ballast resisters when I first reassembled the bike.
I just removed those flag connectors and crimped a bullet connector in and just joined the cables there is enough length in the cables to do it.
Its still a prick to start but that"s nothing to do with no ballast resisters.
Just run a wire from the switched side of the starter relay to the positive side of the coils (between coil and resistor). That will shunt the full battery voltage to the coils for as long as you have your thumb on the starter button.
