What year, I would say 1971 when Bars slipped from Stage Bands to Disco.
I was there with my 70 SF0 when a somewhat friend slipped boiled grams of useless weed to patrons.
They didn't call him Slippery Dick for nothing.
All Hell broke loose and within a flash of a second and a 250lb giant charged through the mass of fisticuffs and upped turned tables targeted my direction.
Lucky a 160 lb English friend defended me by tripping the charging monster whom collapsed under my chair. At 136lbs, I kept the monster pinned until 4 OPP Officers appeared and we all LAUGHED and drank at the Bar.
I met a Bar Maid at the time. I will always love Marny. In 73 we had a rather embarrassing incident that broke us up.
She and I went through a hell lot of shit in our short relationship - Unforgettable - But we were young !
Lots of bruises and broken paraphernalia but no charges laid - What a Party ;o)
Location the Woodland Hotel - Owned by Leo Bartozzie between Hanmer and Val Caron in the Sudbury Basin - Doesn't exist anymore.
Same corner that killed 9 people in a Service Station Gas Tank explosion in around 1958. The Woodland Hotel was built on the site.
In 58 I was 10 years old. In say 71, time of the brawl, I was 23 and owned a 70 750SF. Dates maybe be not accurate but close.
