Bearings

I?ve always heard/perceived SFK as top quality items. But then again, I am no expert.

A bit of internet research tells me they are both great quality. I?d go for the cheaper ones :-)

I need new mainshaft bearings. NSK are dearer than SKF, does that mean they're better?

no, it means the bearing shops you are getting prices from have different profit margins, both are top quality bearings
try and source C3 rating bearings

interesting fact, companies that have very high bearing stock requirements naturally have accounts with the bearing mobs and they can buy a bearing that would cost you and I $50 across the counter for less then $10, that shows the mark up on bearings to the general public
is same with a lot of items, when I still worked in Aussie back in the 90's company I worked for had a 95% discount account with a hydraulic hose and fitting supplier  :o

Be wary of Chinese rip off SKF bearings.  They are marked SKF, same model no., they come in a SKF box/packaging, but they are not from SKF >:(.  If its for your lawn mower, probably OK.  Buy from an Authorised SKF/NSK/FAG/Timken reseller only.

Don't let your axle, forks set for more then 2 years before you re-pack them and you will not have problems whether they are balls or needles and change the oil once or twice a year depending how many miles you put on her or how many years you let her set.

I do not believe a Woman will never forgive you if you have Magna but will never understand why Breganzie Riders dote on 2 wheels.

Interesting comment. When I was at an SKF outlet buying replacement bearings for the triple the guy behind the counter advised me that he would not advise me to use SKF bearings made in China even though he had them in stock.

Very Interesting Comment! My advice is you should seek advice from an advisory before advising advice from an advisor.  Only my advice! :D

The same thing was happening with NGK spark plugs, hard to tell the difference between the fake and the correct
