Here at Broadford with the Redax team
Matty put the Orange machine on Pole with a 103.4 a new lap record for the class 👍👍way to go
Was impressive yesterday in practice with him trailing a V4 Aprilia finally rounding it up and pulling away from it
Awesome
Good to see a number of Vic’s out supporting the weekend even if their own club member isn’t out here racing so sadly no Black Betty this weekend

WTF! Had no idea there was racing this weekend! Shows you how out of the loop I am. And not posting on here either, Brett! Damn - fully booked today and tomorrow as well.

Sounds like Matty and The Mule are kicking off where they left off. Awesome. Good luck and enjoy the racing guys.

Won the first race even though loosing traction not too shabby 103.1
Quentin sorry was posted on the club LAVERDA NSW Facebook page

It was a bit of a sweet and and sour day yesterday the sweet being that lap times that Matty put down on Reds mighty Scorch.
The sour was a very bad accident late in the afternoon where a bike collided with the rear of another bike after the chequered flag was dropped.
I think one rider had buttoned off and another continued at full throttle into him the end result was really bad with a fatality and another rider airlifted to hospital after a long time one of the bikes had the entire front end torn off it.
The meeting was cancelled for the remainder of the weekend with a very subdued feeling at the meeting a very sad way to end the day.

That's terrible news, Maurice. Something we never ever want from a race meeting. A person lost to their family, another sounding very badlyu injured., Fukken awful. What a sad thing for you all.

Sorry to hear it, thoughts are with those who are now dealing with a tragedy. Best wishes also to all the Laverda contingent who I hope managed to have a good time up till then and afterward in spite of the circumstances. Motorcycling (racing or otherwise) can be so brilliant and yet so terrible also. Ride safe everyone.

What a terrible way to end the racing weekend. Exactly the same thing happened on my licence course, an instructor into a student, the instructor died at the scene. Very hard.

Terrible news.. one of the trainers died at Morgan Park a few weeks ago, and now this.. Just goes to show the little thought of dark side of our sport.. Tough for everyone involved. Travel safe everyone..
Thoughts to all..

Here are some more pics from what was apart from the accident a great weekend away.
The Redax bikes did not disappoint, Matt backing up his win in the first by coming second to the Triumph after racing the last 4 laps in 4th was impressive to say the least.
A good turn out of the Laverda supporters with Hooksey setting up an awesome kitchen/beer tent up on the hill, the view of the racing from up there is really special .
Great to catch up with a lot of the victorians although they did seem to have brought the flys with them from Melbourne
