G'day Folks,

Can anyone recommend someone/somewhere in QLD to have Borrani rims re-rolled to true to remove dings etc? Am based in Townsville but I can freight the rims to Brisbane if necessary.

Cheers Cosi,
No Rush:They're on the Guzzi at present and I still have to drive it back from adelaide .. Hopefully I'll be able to drop them off sometime next month when, hopefully, I'll be able to drive down and see this SF with my own eyes for once :o

Andy, if Cosi says Dave Kellett that's pretty definitive. But I will share that I used to get my 3c wire wheels rolled straight after every major trip at Wilson Wheel Works on Abbotsford Road at Bowen Hills, they'd make spokes for me too, no drama, good prices. They're still there, although I haven't had any wheel work done in Brisbane in well over 30 years :o

Ken

Cheers ken,
For a moment there I thought Bowen Hills might be somewhere near Bowen.. Sounds good though.

Andy

Dave definitly does the mags, but there is a spokey doke guy that we got also name deludes me at the moment, either  way its sorted

BTW did i tell you you got a nice sf

dirty fucker, for those that bagged it, its got 5k miles on it and original tyres

dont see them very often, even idles cold

Bargain buy, just needs a bit o spit

Spit on your own bike please Mr Cosi..  :o  though if you do want to stroke the lustrous paintwork I won't mind if you happen to have a rag and polish in your hands  :D :D 8) 8)

Does Red (pity we can't contact him on here any more >:() have a period rear light for it?

I'll stop over in Brisbane for the afternoon on my way back to TSV  sometime the week after next and go take a look. 8). Just got to see if I can change my flights ok.. Original tyres after 37 years :o.. whatever next :o? Probably a fair bit of tread too.. What are they, Pirelli Mandrakes? can't remember what they were making back then.. cross plies certainly.

Am trying to change my roster so I can get down there for the Concourse event.. should know by the end of the week.. The Mirage will have to wait until next year :( :(

Mr hey, dont be making me sound more important than i should be fella, im justa a dumb fuck engineer/ architect

no im not really but it sorta sounded real  :P

the paint dont need no spit, its all that other allumini shit that needs a bit

You got Reds details yeah, im assuming you do seens as you lobbed this thing of beauty there,

"The Bruce" did have adorning eyes peering over it whilst i was there, so hopefully the Boss gets better quick cuase the longer
"The Bruce"  is there the less chance you got of seeing it

Get well soon Red, for Andys sake

<sigh> Why is it that whenever I buy a Laverda and send it somewhere to get fixed up, that locale goes into self destruct or AWOL mode..  :o :o

I hope 'The Bruce' isn't a mad Scotsman.. :o

i agree with Cosi (well sometimes),  (ok, not very phaaarkin often !!)
i'd start with Dave Kellett, good bloke and skilled.
Bevelman suggested JTR for sprockets, but they also do lots of wheel stuff. worth a look, i reckon.

and there is the Ash's bloke, but i've heard not cheap,, but what good work is ??

i don't know who actually 're-rolls' the rims? , if any,,  but i don't know a lot!!  :D

Hi Mark,
Cheers for this.. might see you around Red's place on Sunday middayish..? I wanna see what Santa brought me.. 8) 8)

Cheers Jason,
Will probably go for one of the Brisbane mobs that Cosi and  The Brisvegas Mafia (TBM) recommend as I'll be down their way next month to collect the SF (or am I deluding myself that I'm the new owner :o :o)..

Will hoon up your way on the SF sometime soon to do the 'Atherton Lap'..

Andy

I am not sure and probably shouldnt post this but I think I heard a while ago but Mike had passed away,he used to be in Sydney and moved north quite a while ago and as I said sadly maybe not around.Good wheel wrights are hard to find and are there numbers are dwindling. The first one I used was a bloke in Surry Hills just off Oxford st many years ago and he looked to be in his 80s then

Andy,

Yep I admit I was very taken with your 750.
But don't wory it was still up on the old bike lift when I left.

I have used Wilson wheel works in Albion (but was many years ago).
Sounds like Cosi has it sorted tho.

Good score I reckon. Not much chance of buying a new 750 these days.
You got the next best thing.

Cheers
Bruce

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for the info etc.. hopefully will catch up with you at the Concourse.. I'll take the SF though likely it'll be on a trailer as I won't have had time to register it by then.. I think Red has the Compliance inspection under control tho.

I see you have a Guzzi 650TT.. what year? Were you at the Off Centre rally in Wanaring NSW a couple of years back?

Andy

only made the V65TT for a couple of years, so pick one?
and reckon it wasn't at the Centre rally, i got it in 2001, before passing it on to Bruce.
used mostly for chasing the CLQ blokes around the hills,  was good at that.  :o
cheers,

Ah, so none of the ones (3) I saw at Wanaring was yours then?.. Actually.. I think the Centre rally should be on again soon.. up Cape York I believe.. I went on the Africa Twin a couple of years ago and am hoping to take the Tenere this year if I can pull my finger out to get it going and on the road..

Hi Andy,

Nope wasn't me. As Mark said I got it off him a couple of years ago.
Dam fine bike for my neighbourhood.
Just ask the CLQ guy's about my driveway :D :D :D

Unfortunately I wont be at the Concourse as the missus has us in NZ for a holiday.

I look forward to meeting you at some other event.
Cheers
Bruce
