Bike Films, the good the bad and the Fugly!!

.....They don't make movies like that any more.

FORTUNATELY!!! It was on TV the other night, what a tedious pice of crap!! Really struggled to put up with the characterisations, well and truly over the top!

BLECH...

These are just a few other Bike Flics I can think of: Electra Glide in Blue, Easy Rider, Harley Davidson and the Malboro Man, Missionary Man, Devil's Angles, The Hard Ride ,,,etc and of course Born Losers and Masters of Menace which Dirrko may find entertaining ;o)

I just noticed that link for The Wild One don't work - StagVu has that problem but some great Classic Flics can be had there.

What about Marianne Faithful and Alain Delon in "Girl on a motorcycle"?  Ran on the telly the other night, nowhere near what I remembered.  Perhaps a little lysergic acid diethylamide would have been able to change that... :D

Piet, did Marianne Faithfull ever actually ride that Harley in that film? There were several sequences where it was painfully obvious she was sitting on the bike in a trailer behind the camera car. And there was a big fuss at the time about the "double" who actually rode the bike on camera, I don't remeber who she was but she could definitely toss that big Harley around. And the ending... talk about an anticlimax, that had to be the worst staged crash I've ever seen.

One Motorcycle Film I really enjoyed was called "One Week". A Canadian flic about a guy diagnosed with Cancer. He leaves anything behind, buys a Classic Norton 850 Commando and tours from the East to West Coast of Canada looking for meaning in his life.

It has nothing about the Unlawful Stereo Type Motorcyclists but does do a great job at depicting Freedom Vs Responsibility and Identity. It has some great scenes of Canada in areas and locations that I personally know and have ridden.

It's really a Descent Movie.

in 1971, Kowalski was delivering a Dodge Challenger and took a detour in the desert for a bit of help from a couple of biker hippies.
CB hippie girl (Gilda Texter) can park her Honda at my place anytime!   yes please,  noice!

reckon one of the best motorcycle scenes.   been over 40 years and i can't forget CB girl.
ok, maybe it was a young teenage hormone thing?
the film was Vanishing Point,  i think they made a remake in the 90's?  but they put a top on biker girl.

Anyone remember 'The Night of the Living Dead'?.. Classic!

I remember it, but I don't remember anyone riding motorbikes in it. Now, "Chopper Chicks in Zombietown", THERE was an early zombie apocalypse movie with a motorcycle theme. But Drikko probably wouldn't like that one either; the characterisations were ... well, poor would be one way of putting it :D :D

I seriously doubt it!

Dreadfully boring, but I remember it being rather cool at the time, how times change!  Director probably had a  little too much lysergic acid diethylamide. :D

The german title is "Nackt unter Leder"- naked under leather, how corny is that?

Hard to top "On any Sunday" or "The Worlds' Fastest Indian" imho.

Presume you were talking about Guy Martin, yep very difficult to make out.
