Enjoy the honda dealer Q, if its anything like sydney, everyone is crying out for mechanics, none to be had. My boss actually sat me down to tell me how happy he was with me, never had that before. Didn't offer a pay rise though........

Get up and start walking, offer will come before you reach the door! ;)

Boss has had no luck finding a new mechanic, so is casting the net a bit wider. He would consider sponsoring a guy or gal from overseas. Had enough of the ice and snow in old blighty?

Every shop in Sydney is advertising for a mechanic, offering start up bonuses, etc. It's a dirty, hot, low paid job.
Which is very surprising when you consider places like car dealerships and the cost of repairs - in fact any good mech workshop. A bit like aged care? Bloody hard work and seriously underpaid.

Speaking of mechanics. I just dropped my car in to a mechanic's shop to have a new clutch master cylinder fitted. They're a decent bunch of guys and only a 10 minute walk away. They're the guys who do my bike roadworthy inspections.

I got the new M/C and was going to do it myself, but I hate working on cars. I'm getting too old do be bending myself double to get upside down in the foot well, or grovelling in the dirt underneath the bloody things. So I thought, fuck it, I'd rather pay some younger bloke to do it.
