Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but word is filtering through from his wife Josie via some of the FB Bevel groups that Steve Barker passed away peacefully at home on the 20th December.
Hmm. OK, thanks Paul. I must have met him then, since I was there at Bello that year too. Just can't fit the name to a face within the filing system in my head. Actually it's more of a chaotic mess than a system. Never been good at remembering who's who.
I didn't remember meeting him and then a long chat at Bruce's drifted into my brain. I met a lot of people that weekend. From memory, he didn't appear to be that old, sad news to me.
He had a beautiful stable of Ducati's. including a mint 900ss, he and I rode a few times through the Sunshine Coast Hinterland together, after he
moved up here from Adelaide a few years back. Top bloke and very sad he went at a relatively young age. RIP Blab.
I was a member of the Bevel Forum he set up after he and a few others had a disagreement with the owner of another forum. I got a huge laugh out of his Ducati Alchemy, acquired from some bloke who had used a bunch of Bunnings Plumbing bits in PVC used in its build.
