BMW K1200 RS Calipers

Hi all i am looking for info about fitting front twin pot brembos from a bmw k1200 , They have 108mm bolt pattern as apposed to fitting brembo 4 pot with 40mm bolt pattern as fitted to ducati etc . std marzocchi forks i have read that there is small amount of machining to be done ? has anyone used the bmw ones? TIA

My answer might be wrong. The K 1200 has brakes similar or the same brakes as Brembo P 30/34. Many have them but you need adapters, might be available at Stein Dinse.

These are compatible only with the 38mm Ceriani forks of the SF2/3 and pre '77(?) triples. A spacer between caliper and fork lug is required to line up with the stock discs.

The Marzocchi forks have the lugs almost on the same plane as the Beemer calipers, better off with the 40mm Brembos there.

Here's my effort, correctly fitted to a '76 3CL.

Does your bike have Ceriani or Marzocchi forks?

For Marzocchi you want 40mm mount with an adapter plate. The K1200RS brake calipers are not 40mm.

For Ceriani you want calipers off a BMW R1200C. They will work with a 5mm spacer between the caliper and fork.
You want an early model R1200C. The later ones have a different mount spacing.

The "compatible" Beemer calipers were fitted to the K1200RS up to 2000, 2001 model got new calipers with completely different mount spacing.

The caliper type suitable for the Ceriani forks was fitted across the entire BMW range from around 1991 up to 2000.
