Most of you OLDER Members know my history but this post is intended for our NEWER Members who come here interested in Laverda Breganzie Motorcycles.

Bought a 70 Breganzie 750 SF basically brand new from an Italian Motorcycle Mechanic - Alian, whom worked for a collapsed European Norton Dealership in Sudbury Ontario "Slim's Motorcycle Sales" and still registered in the Dealerships owner named "George Evans". I was the original owner of a 750 SF crate bike purchased from a Dealership in 1973 with 1,900 click's on her for $1,600; other wards, would have cost me $3,300 NEW through the Dealership when it was in operation and about 3x's more then a 71 Honda 750CB for $1,100. Why a 70 SF0 is registered as a 73 in Canada is a story in itself.

The damn bike lasted me 45 years. Then I sold her for $8,500 in 2019 to another Canadian Laverda Enthusiast and a Laverda Forums Member living in Winnipeg - Trust he is enjoying that 70 SF0 as much as I did ;o)

Other then my Breganzie Twin, I never saw another in them 45 years riding Northern Ontario save for a few Triples passing through.

From experience, after owning a lot of motorcycles, Breganzies are indeed a Motorcyclist Enthusiasts Ride; because, they are delight to work on, requires above skill to ride proficiently and fast enough to WIN Races because they are persistent over long distances.

I'm 74 now and quit riding a few years ago but I mounted my 1st BIG 2 Wheeler's when I was 16 which where a BSA 650 Lightning and a 500 Norton MANX to terrorize Southern Ontario between Cookstown and Wassaga Beach while working on a Sheep Farm with 800 Dorset Ewes on the 10th Sideroad and 11th Line - YAH - I know that's Cattle Country but what can I say only a Northern Ontario Bush Lad would dare take the job - Besides he was my uncle on my mothers side and I was a very good mechanic.

Besides of my claim doing wheelie with my 70 750 SFO shifting from 90 mph to say 50 mph at 7300 rpm into 2nd doesn't compare to walking a Farm-All Tractor on 2 wheels for a concession - RLOF!

My Girl Friends back then was Shirley Graham and Janie Eline. A Farmer' Daughter aquantance is Special which you will never forget because they ride Horses - Save for one Arabian Colt which I befriended on my Grandfather's Dairy Farm on Crown Hill, we got into SHIT - Literal HOG SHIT: I never was much of a horseman because whenever I mount a horse it tended to walk back into the barn with me on top - LOL

Aside from being carried by ear between the colt and me by my Dutch Grandfather, he gave my Mother (A Farmers Daughter) shit as well. I was somewhat of Devil for Speed and so was that Arabian Colt. I was about 10 years old at the time and the Colt maybe 2 years.

Hopefully I've illustrated support for the Italian Stallion being an Irish/Dutch Canadian.
