Brekky run to Patonga Beach 26th July

Meet 8.30 at Berowra 7-11 servo.  Take the old rd north to Calga, then turn left to mangrove mountain.

Turn right into springs rd, continue to Greta rd, Bumble Hill rd, Yarramalong Valley, turn right onto the Freeway. Exit the freeway at Orimbah, head towards Lisarow, right onto the Dog Trap Road, left into Wisemans Ferry rd takes you to Kariong.  Right into Woy Woy road to Umina, and follow through to Patonga.
Brekky at Patonga fish and chip cafe.

Count me in...but you might want to re-think the route - Red Hill Road is dirt, and rough dirt at that - see attached photo of me on 1200GS trying to avoid losing the front on a slimy mud ridden track - that is Red Hill Road. (and before any smart arse advises about riding feet up I can tell you it wasn't riding, it was paddling)

A bitumen alternative - rather than turning down Forest Road, go down Bumble Hill and along Yarramalong Valley to the freeway and probably a quick blat to Kariong turn off and along the ridge road to Woy Woy and Patonga - that's 125Km from the servo.  And then return via Kariong and the old road all the way back - watching for the fuzz.

I was in Toms hands on this one.
:o :o Theres your problem Mr Moose  :)
I think Yogi is the only one who might know the condition of the Ridgway, I have driven parts of it, when I took a wrong turn to Yogi's and it was fine.
Im sure will be all good on the day.

Yes, the Ridgeway is fine, but like all roads on that side of the freeway in the central coast the issue will be traffic by the time we get there.  The other thing is it brings you out on the east side of Gosford and the run down to Umina/Patonga from there is fairly urban.

Alternative - on the basis we run down the freeway (only 5km or so) from Tuggerah to Ourimbah, we could then take Dog Trap Road, go back over the freeway to Somersby, down Wisemans Ferry Road, and then Kariong and along the top to Woy Woy.  Avoids traffic and when I last went up Dog Trap it had maybe a Km of dirt but I believe that has been surfaced now.

Cheers, Nick

That?s a great map what are you using to do that? Is it an option in google maps?

Yes - mark out the route in Google Maps and then click on the menu icon (top left) and select "Share or embed map".  I then used the Windows add-on "Snip & Sketch" to grab the image of the map for the purpose of putting it in the forum post, along with the hyperlink to the google maps page connected to the word here

This looks like a perfect opportunity to practise the well known CLNSW 'Circular Navigation'.

Luv the road names, but funnily, most of them don't appear in my 1950's copy of History of Brisbane Waters which goes way back to first settlement.
Maybe they have been renamed since then (early 50's) ?

Hmm where the bloody hell was everyone .......
