Rare oppurtunity to purchase a pair of SHAVED P2 F08 front brake calipers in excellent condition. They have been re-anodised in deep black and re-built with new seals, pistons, bleed and banjo screws. OE Brembo parts have been used as far as possible/available. Unfortunately, I cannot supply the correct pads or pad locating pins. The pads need to be thinner than the "cooking" items for stock thickness discs and the pins shortened/modified to suit!

These calipers were fitted to early square case 750 and 900SS Ducatis and will bolt straight on to any Marzocchi forked Laverda triple with OE 280mm discs. They'd provide an interesting conversation point compared to the more common Goldline/Oro items! ;)

Asking €400 plus postage. If interested, please contact via DM.

Comparison to late stock F08 caliper.

Do i see right, the hole where the brake fluid crosses both calipers halfs looks a bit decentralized. Same Italian manufacturing charme as with the Scarabs from that time, :)

Gowanloches used to print a Cataloge of spacal bits for Italian bikes, Std plus Gold Line and alsorts of specal bits of accorories all byond my price range. Its was close to porn for bike riders. That cataloge kind of implied the Gold Line bits were Magnesium, it didnt exatly say they were but it didnt NOT SAY either. They sure looked sexy as hell.

So linnisher down to the edge of the chamfer, and triple the value? I'll give it a shot!
Basically, yes Marty.

But not quite as simple. All sides have seen additional milling and both halves have been slimmed on the inside face as well, making thinner pads necessary. The bolts holding the caboodle together are 5mm shorter than stock.

Half my asking price covers the anodising and new hardware alone... a pair of rotty, stock 08s that require refurbishing would end up much the same when finished to the same standard.

Vince, Brembo Goldline calipers and M/Cs were just the stock stuff anodised gold, tricking us all into thinking they were magnesium alloy. The 08 calipers were finished much the same as those I'm offering, except for the need for slimmer pads, the main difference being the light alloy piston as opposed to the chromed steel item of the black cooking versions. Much the same for the M/Cs, early pistons were all steel, the Goldlines had light alloy, which later replaced the steel items in the rebuild kits. That was basically why they were "racing" equipment...

I'll be putting the calipers on eBay shortly, wanted to give you guys first shot.

My Goldline calipers are narrower than the shaved ones. Maybe there were different types of Goldlines.

Interesting to see the different machining methods used Marnix.

The Goldlines/Oro as fitted to the SFC1000 used the same type pads as those fitted to all other F08 equipped Laverdas.

I can well imagine the inside half being machined differently to accomodate different hub/spoke dimensions/spacings.
