Brembo Reassembly Issue?

Hi,
I've started restoring my Brembos on my RGS1000SFC.  Reassembling today and ran into an issue with the little aluminum pin that I presume goes in the center as shown in the photo below (maybe not?)  Anyway, if it goes in the center, it doesn't fit in the space where the pads go as shown.  Wrong little pin?  Grind it to fit?  Help! Thanks.

Yep, pin goes where you have it.  Looks like a stainless aftermarket item, which may explain why it's too long.  I'm assuming you don't have shaved (thinner, therefore lighter) calipers

Standard item is about 26mm long

Yes, yours has the twin bleed nipple system, but the Goldline system on the SFC has a larger single bleed nipple.

Overall, a very different caliper!

No provision for the snap-on plastic cover and lots of material removed between the mounting points.

Shame about the cheesy gold colour, though... (bolt)

Blab,

Your calipers actually look like the early version of the racing type 08s!  Do normal pads fit or do you need to slim them down about 1 mm?

Got a kit from Wolfgang.  Brembo item, not aftermarket. Anyway, I measured all three center pins and they were all slightly different lengths!  One, actually fit without 'adjustment'.  Got them all in, now.  Handbuilt, right?
