Broken clutch bleed nipple. What to do? 🤷

I thought I'd share this with you all, to seek your expertise on how to recover the situation or in case someone has a spare one they would be happy to part with, if it's not easily feasible to fix?
In my pursuit to in seize the clutch plates on my Mirage TS yesterday, which incidentally was successful 👍🏻, with some help from old mate of mine, I thought it would also be beneficial to replace the clutch fluid, which had not been changed for many years.. So breifly, with the old fluid in, post the plates re fitted, all was good. Clutch was back in action. The major problem became when the bleed nipple came adrift from the engine case itself! See images. There must of been a very old historical crack where the nipple screwed in, as when the alloy section came adrift, you could see the fresh break, along with the dark old break. Plus it was badly cross threaded. Anyway what is done is done, past or present. Here I am one step closer, but now one step back, with this tricky situation. So what to do? How it can be repaired, recoiled, then the reprofiled so the nipple, fits & works, is this possible? Has it been done successfully before? A replacement case and new bleed nipple, would be the obvious solution, but I'm sure theses are either unobtanium or if so incredibly expensive? Has anyone had the same situation / experience? I'm kicking myself, why didn't I just leave the be the old fluid in, as it worked. Anyway all positive help & advice would be appreciated. Richard

I’ll be back interested in the response from the brains trust, that’s a nasty thing to repair. I’d say weld it up and retap, but be careful of the seat!

I can repair that, and improve the whole caboodle as well, there are many options, contact me on 01959 532316 or 07778 018464 watts ap is best on the mobile, no service when at home.
do a search and you will find lots of pictures here and on ILOC forum, more than one way to fix it, and you are right a used undamaged cover and and slave cylinder is a very precious item. I have one that I would not sell unless it paid fpr half off the TZ700 that I want to buy! here are a couple of pictures to get started should you choose this route.

I can fix the adrift bleed hnipple and improve the cover to prevent it cracking under strain from the piston, which they all do eventually that and the hydraulic union needs attention at the same time.
I have the O rings in stock for peanuts, there are two cmmon sizes 30mm qnd 31mm plus the very first types are 35mm, I am the only supplier of the rubber dust boot for the slave on the planet, stocks getting low and when they are gone they are gone, so try to re-use the old one.
there are a few options for the nipple and a few for the ongong anti crack measures. You can even blank off the nipple and not bother with it at all!
which I have done on my own bike and one ither, no dramas.

A beacon of light! Thanks Clem, I will call you Tomorrow if that's ok? or when it suits you next week? , to discuss getting it repaired, or as you mention, dispensing with it all together, if it's feasible? Although I not sure how you would then bleed the system? As I've mentioned before on the forum, this whole situation started with me getting the bike in a fully road worthy condition, to unfortunately sell on. Everything was fine, other than the sticking clutch plates. That was all sorted, plates out, cleaned, it was ready!. However taking it further by putting fresh fluid in, has now set everything back, with this situation. Really appreciate your help. Richard.

Redax in Queensland Oz. Builds a billet alloy hydro clutch cover plus lots of other goodys for Laverdas. Plenty here to search up on this site

Ok, it's been a while, but I'd thought I'd share with you, where I'm upto with getting my Laverda Mirage back on the road, after being laid up for a few years. Having sorted the sticking clutch plates out, I fell foul of the clutch bleed nipple housing weakness, which unfortunately disintegrated on me, when I tried to bleed the system with fresh fluid. After reading the advice, & attempting to having it repair with alloy welding, which was unsuccessful, I sent the case for repair to Keith at Laverdascotia. After a few weeks, it's all back with the engineered modification, which I pretty in pleased with, despite not fitting yet.

So onto the next hurdle! I faced. When I drained the clutch fluid, the rubber Bellows inside the PS15 master cylinder disintegrated, probably perished after sitting in fluid for 40 years? On phone various dealers around the UK, it quickly became apparent, that these Brembo PS15 bellow kits are as Rare as hens teeth! Unobtainable I found out. Stumped by a small necessary rubber part 😡 Then Keith from Laverdascotia said try the APLockeed bellows, as they may fit. Long story cut short. When I called Andover Norton, to enquire about the APLockeed bellows suitability in the Brembo master cylinder, I was told they actually have new old stock of the super rare PS15 Bellow kit carried over from the days of the old Rotary Norton's in the early eighties. Happy days. 😊. I Just need to purchase some 20w50w oil & gasket sealant & I should be ready to recommence the reassembly. 🤞🏻
