Bultaco TSS 350

I thought Bultaco ( the original company ) went belly up some time ago .... although someone started making electric Bultacos about eleven years ago ......

An electric Bultaco ! ...... I was about to say William Shatner must be spinning in his grave , but then just realised he`s still alive and was actually pictured on a Montesa .........

At least this seems to be a return to sanity , but intended for competition use only ( shame ) ......... 60 bhp and 103 kgs is surely the way to go ......

Montjuic Park was a happy hunting ground for the old proper Bultacos , running rings around the big four strokes ........ Grau`s 360 beating Gallina`s SFC into second place in 1972 ....... Apologises to the co-pilots .... names escape me right now ..........

At least the electric ( ha ! ) Bultacos are still made in Barcelona ........ Unlike the Rally GT 300 CF Moto engined thing which is made you guess where ......


( Whilst we`re at it , weep big salty Chinese tears for what used to be known as Moto Morini ) .............


BTW .... The Bultaco " Thumbs Up " tank badge came about when Xavier Bulto was attending an International motorcycle trial ........ He noticed the British team members would give a " thumbs up " to their pit crew as they passed by , signifying all was well and good .......So he decided to incorporate that signal into his companys` badge .......

After all , when you ride a Bultaco everything is just fine , obviously .............

I thought Honda bought one of the Spanish brands, and more specifically, Bultaco, when Honda was Trials mad. Google helped. The Cofounder of Montesa left and stated Bultaco, the Honda link was with Montesa. Sammy Miller was heavily involved.
 
The other big Spanish trials company was Ossa ( who were also involved in road racing ....... their rider Santiago Herrero was killed in a crash at the 13th milestone at the IoM TT , which one of the things which sparked his friend Giacomo Agostini`s call for the TT to be removed as a round of the World Championship , and Ossa decided to abandon road racing thereafter as a result of Herrero`s death ...... ) .....

When Yamaha got involved in trials , they poached Ossa`s Mick Andrews to spearhead their factory effort ....... It was reckoned Andrews landed the best financial deal of the lot at the time ......
