Thought it might be worth mentioning that someone well known to most of you here got a bit of recognition yesterday.

Brett Mahoney received a very well deserved award from Bears Racing yesterday while out at Eastern Creek,
and came home with the Founding Members Award in recognition of the true Bears spirit.

I think its fair to say that this award could not have gone to a more deserving recipient.
As far as I know Brett has attended every Bears race meeting since Red and Paul first started all those years ago, including as most of you know the meets in Darwin which he rides to.
He is an integral part of the Redax team and much loved by all.
Brett is well known for assisting other riders on any bike with whatever problems they come up with at the track, his favorite being the Ducati's which he has a passion for.


So well done Brett, great to see you get this trophy,
Very well deserved indeed.

It’s probably worth mentioning that apart from dedicating himself to getting himself to each of the BEARS rounds annually and supporting Red and or anyone else that needs some mechanical support either competitor or spectator, Brett rides one of his Laverda’s to each event also there is only one round on the calendar that is less than 1000 kms the remainder of the rounds would mean a minimum of 2000 kms return trip one of the truest Laverda enthusiasts in the world and a great mate!

Couldn't agree more Maurice, a great ambassador for Laverda and a mate who goes to the end of the world for his mates and indeed for those in need of assistance despite holding down a demanding job that takes up too much of his time.
We in Club Laverda NSW respect, appreciate and thank you for all that you've done for us Brett.

Glad to call Brett a close friend since the seventies. He insisted to fill the tank on my (then new) 79 Jota when he was wrenching at the local Shell. I was surprised he knew what it was. Wasn't long before he bought his first triple (which he recently re-aquired in poor shape) that we rode the 1000's to many rallys etc. I would not own my 3C without his expertise and support. Good on ya Brah!
