Cable routing

Thanks Ppuxley that's the electrical side, you don't have photos of clutch cable route by any chance?
Bearing in mind mine's a 120 with hydraulic clutch, it comes across the front of the headstock then down the RHS of the top frame tube (over the front tank mount), then somewhere about halfway down the tank tunnel exits downwards into the top of the back RH sprocket/clutch master casing

Hi Edd

Series 1 - (and no fairing) 3C/Jota like this:

Over top of headlamp (may well lie on headlamp) - to RH of headstock - Inside RH front opening of fuel tank - down RH side of frame top spine tube - downwards after carbs - sweep between LH and middle carb - Behind LH float bowl (may well lie against air box) - sweep down to engine cable abutment.

There are no hard and fast rules, play around and get the largest radii you can, bends make the clutch very stiff. Don't go outside LH carb though.

Tie down at regular intervals down the frame tube, you dont want it rubbing away its plastic cover on inside the of tank.

My clutch cable goes outside the left carb. Looks OK to me and forms a nice large radius bend.
Maybe my cable is a little longer than yours. Trying to tuck it between the carbs introduces a couple of awkward bends in it.

I dont cable tie it either, looking for the lightest clutch pull and even  a nipped cable tie has a surprising effect.

I should've qualified my cable tie thing.... only cable tie to the frame where it naturally wants to touch it. Elsewhere, use a cable tie in a loose loop, to restict the cable's movement and stop rubbing. To do this, use 2 cable ties in a figure 8, one tight around the frame (holds the other tie in position), the other loose around the cable.

What a load of bollocks.  :D  Has my life come to this, wrirting extensively about cable ties. Fuck me.

Anyway, as for going around the LH carb, on my bike it caused all sorts of nasty bends under the tank, and, yes it looks shit  ;)  Cable length is surely the reason.

Exactly. And just how I routed mine.

You can make little standoffs to stop the cable rubbing on the frame but still support it.
Cut a length of screen washer hose to the required length then pass the tie down it, around the cable, then backup through the hose.
This will stop it from flapping about but still allow some flex.
I use this method to secure my mtb cables and hoses to stop them rubbing away the aluminium frame or snagging on things.
