Cam blocks

Scott is correct, the 120s have a much larger oil pump.  But I haven't experienced any issues regarding the supply with these smaller holes in conjunction with the earlier pumps.

What model triple do you have?  The first version had 7mm wide gears, the 1200s and subsequent 1000s had 8(?)mm wide gears with the same tooth count, the 120s had wider gears still, but with coarser teeth.  The aftermarket pumps currently offered have 10mm wide gears with the earlier number of teeth, still don't manage to shift as much oil as the 120 pumps though.  Any of these complete pumps can be retro-fitted to any of the triples, plug-'n-play.

Hi Scott/Piet,

thank you for your input,Its a 180 series 1 engine (1980) obviously i don't want to create an issue by leaving them at the wrong size.

Steve

Being a 1980 engine, it should have the larger 1200-type pump.

Once you've fitted the new bearings and oiled them nicely, spin the engine on the starter without plugs and camcover to confirm oil flow.  Keep some rags close for overflow... :D
