Looking for knowledge here I am trying to work out why my SFC1K seems to be vibrating more well more than my 180s anyway I was looking at the cam sprocket markings and wondering if maybe I have cam timing out a bit there are a number of stampings on a set of F1 cams out of my RGS engine A12, A11, F1 and S and a vertical line 120 If the other cam A vertcal line 120 I guess S being exhaust and A being Inlet are these vertical lines the ones to time cams off if so with the the number 1 cylinder at TDC both cam lobes would be facing towards the centre, haven't got my camera sorry.

Hi Maurice - even if you have the cams on the right marks - they are more likely than not timed incorrectly. If you want to set them up properly - you need to "degree" them in - Regards - Phil

G'day Maurice,
You'll find that the correct torque seetings for the mounts are crucial - it's not just a case of heaving 'em up as tight as they'll go (and how do I know that....?!) ;)

Hi Alan are you talking about the through bolt or the smaller M8s and torque settings???

All of them that are related to the mounts.
Torque settings I have are :
Rubber silentbloc to frame 30-37 ft.lb. (M8s)
Engine to rubber silentbloc 37-40 ft.lb. (M10 through bolts)

Alan :)

Thanks Al and Phil, engine mounts correctly tensioned, and Phil I set up the clock on the cam buckets and found the inlet cam had maximum lift at 96 degrees I am going to file the camshaft flanges as per your suggestion on L/M. to get into spec max lift at 100 deg.
many thanks, still dont know why it vibrates maybe just not used to her after riding the supreme 180s ohh better dodge the bulletts. ::) ::)
