Camchain adjuster freewheel

Clem - you would think that a pro like Alan Bell would have known better but the more I see the less I believe  :-X

Sorry but crap design for cam chains or for that matter any chain.

On high speed cam chain slipper type is the best and for that matter on
the primary.

The smaller roller in the photo will induce a degree of polygonal effect and both
will impart shock load, into the drive.

Goin to me bomb shelter :D :D :D :D :D

I tend to reuse cam wheels since it would seem to me that the most wear occurs when they're new and that's when you get unwanted bits of polymer going around with the oil.
After a while, the wheel will be nicely adapted to the chain.

The SFC items utilise a needle bearing in both wheels.  Specific to SFC hardened and ground axles need to be used.

The plastic tends to go hard with time and oil influence, after a couple of years it gets so brittle it literally falls to bits if used further.  The modern plastics used in pattern replacements stay softer and pliable for far longer.

Cam forgot to mention the clogged oilways and/or pump... adds a nice premium to the engine overhaul bill! :D

Better get myself off down the rib shop.

Cosi shall I get it insured and set fire to ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Look guys Cosi has bought this a run a around for when he and his mates are
in UK. Even when insurance, service and tax have been paid it is cheaper than hiring
a 750 in UK, usually ?80+ per day.

Do you want recovery on that Cosi??

Worst comes to the worse theres always the Bandit (photos to follow)

I did hear of someone who turned some new wheels a tad smaller so that the chain would fit, which seemed a daft oidea to me, why would you wamnt a crap chain in your motor, if it dont fit, dont use it!
CLEM

well from an inspection through the adjuster opening the cam chain is fine, certainly not tight

No Clem, when the adjuster is put in and the bolt is loosend to take up the slack there is quite a perceptible movement.
