My 4c camshafts need some work on the lobes.

Can anyone recommend someone in the UK who can do this sort of thing properly ?

Joy engineering is a name that comes up a lot.

Thanks all.

I think I read somewhere that Phil Irving used to profile cams with a hand file, then finish with fine emery paper. He must have had a good feel for what he was doing.
& an immense amount of free time!

That's quite OK if dealing with singles, multis are near to impossible to do in this style.

I've re-profiled my rust pitted cams after laser welding for my 100 Tourismo.  Thought I'd be able to grind the welds down with an oil stone, but with 70-odd HRC, you're going nowhere with an oil stone alone.  Ended up buying a power file, worked a treat.  Engine ran nice, too.

try David Newman camshafts in Farnborough, Kent.

Joy Engineering have been known( in the past) to take rather a long time to get the job done.

Anyone know who did the F1  180 cams for Keith, that was a can of worms. They had incompatibility issues with std Laverda cam buckets.

now I now who you are and where you are its just gotta be Newmans, they did regrinds for Mr.Todd at one time  I believe, Phil?
