So looking around for oil for the Monty and came across this on Amazon how can there be such a difference in price for the same 1 litre of castrol ?????

My downhill 65 mph was two-up ..... indicated , although teenage enthusiasm and blurred vision , due to the vibration , may have come into play ...........

Uphill was still a wheezy 40 or so though , solo or two-up .........

I like yours ....... Mine ( 237 BDD ) had the points in the timing side case ... and was Amaranth Red ( Hammer and Thread ) and Silver .

I always liked the look of the Trials Cub ........ and the Sports Cub as well , which was supposed to be good for eighty !!!!

I`ve got the factory leaflets somewhere ..........

The thing you did at 14 - 15 years old was to write away to all the factories or importers ... ( BSA / Triumph / Suzuki / Velocette / Itom / Royal Enfield / Garelli / Norton Villiers in my case ) ... for all the latest brochures and leaflets .........

Still got most of them .... including Norton Villiers Stage One , Two , and Three Tuning leaflets for the Atlas / Commando ......... maybe one day ! ..............

I had a Tiger Cub, when I was sixteen. Paid £20 for it. Ran for a month, repairing for a month, ran for a month,...
I thought it was a POS, until I bought a C15SS which was even worse!
Despite the poor introduction, I still bought a new Norton 850 Commando, in '73, when I passed my Motorcycle DrivingTest.
It only took a little more than two years to see it was heading towards familiar BritBike reliability.
The coin dropped and I bought my Laverda. Nearly fifty years later, I'm still riding it.

The Laverda has obviously lasted much better than I have.

More Cub stuff ..... received 19 May 1971 .......... despite the Cub having been out of production for a couple of years , and it`s maker already well on it`s way to sliding down the pan ........

Also found an Eric Cheney catalogue from 1971 .......

Sorry for the hijack .......... you can get back to oil for Montys now .......... (y)..................

Whats the white bit in the breeze Hamish??? A little lower than the waving white bits on top, between headlight rim and instrument bracket?

Quite the cutting figure in the days of some past time, why do i think you were/are bit of a ladies man.... must have been a test of man and jeans throwing a leg over a 31" seat height, two Laverda in the photograph, no doubt a story to be regaled. Still not a bad look the latter photo, like the gloves, you remain a spooky John E look, Magic Bus bass intro would be good if you would be so kind.... gets me every time i hear it, j.

It was a ticket for a photographic challenge, Jon.
As to the 'Ladies Man', my Mrs. thinks that previous partners numbering in the low hundreds suggests something like that.
I was just a '60's-'70's teenager enjoying the 'free love' era, as best I could.

Here's a rather nice performance of 'Magic Bus', from Leeds:

Syncopation at its best, bit like a 180, lopsided firing, bang bang bang miss.... you cannot help but the handsome man on motorcycle, though Paul M in his early days had a style of much worth j
