After many hours on the internet I've finally found a Carello H/L for my SFC.
It has the correct numbers on the glass, 03 485 700. No numbers/markings on the back
Can anyone with an SFC verify if it looks like the original H/L that was fitted to the SFCs
Thanks

I'll have to ŕemove it again Thomas but no problem doing that. It does fit nicely filling out the rubber surround.
Does the glass look the same?
It does have the correct numbers on the glass.
After nearly 40 years the front of the fairing has never looked so good

I ran a Carello Head Lamp with a Bosch bulb in an upside down Japanese pod in a 3/4 Dunstall Fairing on my 70 750 SF0 - GO Figure - It all FIT ;o)

Fairing and mount came off a 900 Kawasaki and fitted with a little modification.
Great Head Lamp for night riding. Fiam Horns and Fog lamps. Yamaha dirt bike turn signal lamps.
Of course I'm running Perillie's at the time

The attached pics are of the headlight that came with 1974 Italy model 750SFC removed decades ago for racing. Based on my knowledge of the bike's history, I believe this was the originally installed unit.

Thanks all, it does look very similar to Arancia's lens and the back has the same globe mounting but no numbers.
Given Marnix's thunbs up to Arancia's photos I assume it's the correct unit.
Anyway it does fit and given how much it cost me I have to be happy with it. If it wasn't for the UPS charges it would have cost just lest than half of what I had to pay.
Brought from a Ferrari spares supplier for a 246 Dino

When I had a std 7" car headlight (SF1) I used Bosch H4 inserts - superb light pattern, cheap as chips from Volvo wreckers and easily coped with 130W H4 bulbs. Could never understand why several Laverda models used weirdo sizes, that in the present day are more exxy than a kilo of unobtanium! It's not as if a 200mm Bosch 3C insert gives a superior throw of light.

Probably would have been cheaper to buy the Dino and then I would have had a spare!!!
Jim, was your SFC one of the US spec models? Just asking cause I'm led to believe the US models had the light replaced with a sealed beam unit.
Mine was fitted with a sealed beam unit from new. Scott Potter mentioned in a post related to the Carello lights 10 years ago about the US models being replaced with crappy sealed beams as well. Also while looking for the light I came across a Alfa forum that said their Carellos were replaced with sealed beam lights.
Here you go Thomas, a side profile

Agreed the Carello Head Light Pod is probably the best head lamp you will ever use - Be fortunate that you have one and be responsible for it.

I'm not bragging but I think she was 8" in diameter.

Mine was originally brought into the USA as best as I know ...... but it has the proper Carello. It also seems that mine never had the signals or mirror installed. I believe that was all done in USA so perhaps mine missed all the "upgrades" done by the importer ..... thankfully.

Jim

By the way to keep your BIG Carello head light from vibrating just cut some 1/4" rubber tubing and stuff it around the head light rim.

3 x 2"rs will do.

I generally do not comment about build designs unless I have experience it. Such that Braganzie back in the day allowed you to do it with their Cafe Bikes.

NOTE: The Inverted upside down Japaneses Pod to fit a Carello Head lamp - It works ;o)

US spec '74 (with ND instruments, mirror and turn signals) came with a GE sealed beam installed when I got it in early 80s, I believe to be original unit, the bike had very low miles and no apparent damage, previous owner had made no other modifications.
