Cavis Benz 7 x 12 fuel line.

I searched hi & lo for the above and final bought a new length from Mdina.  Whilst this line is the same size and almost the same colour as the original it is marked up as Cristal Benz 7x12.  Ok I know it will do but does anyone know if the original Cavis Benz 7x12 is available from anywhere?

Is it really that important to replicate even original fuel line when it's deemed of dubious efficacy for the intended purpose??? Just seems to go a step beyond rivet counting to me!

Cavis fuel line is excellent. My 1973 SF2 still has the original fuel lines.

Would seem the Ferrari world counts a lot more rivets than the Laverda one. The judges wouldn't accept a Laverda without Cavis fuel line.

I second Paul?s words. The original fuel lines are excellent. The become harder and turn brownish, but don?t perish or shrink, and still function well after decennia of use.

Unfortunatly at stupid prices.  Does anyone know where it comes from?

It was made in Italy by, unsurprisingly, a company called "Cavis" - I used to buy 100metre rolls of it - wish I still had some!

Once Cavis goes hard on the link pipe of the Dells,re attaching securely in that state without using new expensive stock was a pain, replaced with black neoprene lines ,oh no  black! :D  from Bikers Tool Box. Paddys hoses are too small without heating them up in hot water,so other bikes are blessed with a green hose ,that stays flexible, available from most scooter suppliers.I wouldn"t worry about originality as most orange Laverda owners inc me don"t have Ford Vista orange  anyway. :D

recently produced Cavis hose is not the same as decades ago, I bought some from a Croydon classic Fiat dealer a while ago, and the unused part of my 5 meter drum has changed from green to Blue
see picture, new hose (two years in closed cupboard) is top and decades old offcut, which I think has been in use, bottom. Even though the colour has changed dramatically while in storage, it does remain flexible and pliable, so could be used, just looks totally disgusting.
