Center downpipe

Hey Jo!
I know that the mudguard is the other way around, i never know if it is true or if it is a “Laverda joke” as nobody really knows🤣. I have both positions in two different Laverdas and same people say the same to both of them😆.
Anyway i took some meassurements and the bracket looks quite simetrical, i could of course give it a try and turn it as a little difference would be enough to clear the downpipe.

When I bought the bike the downpipe was not dented, this is the only thing that enoys me…

Anyway, here a low motion video of the contact and the degree meassurement of the fork:

I just checked the pictures in the "La Diva" book. The round stainless steel fender was introduced with the 750S model - and all pictures show them in only one orientation - example shows SF2:

For this reason it would be for me the "right" way to install it. But as I said, no idea which effect it may have ...

Taking the angle with a plumb does not conform with the specification unless the line through the rear lower engine mounting are horizontal, as per the diagram.Miguel's.jpegLaverda Triple 180 Frame Measurements.jpg

As I said, I wasn't sure whether it would do anything. My idea was that the bow of the bracket might sit a little higher and thus possibly dives past the critical bend header radius earlier ...

Oh true, you are damn right!😑

But ok, this doesn’t change the issue that the main tube has an slight bend when putting on it a straight bar… so i need to increase that clearance with the front bracket. Other Laverda owner did it with those shose shorter pipes… i don’t see anything else apart of building it apart completely and making it straight with chains and lot of power😮‍💨

I was thinking that yokes cannot be bended as I would have had issues installing the fork stanchions
 
I bought the correct downpipes from Wolfgang for my 3C with no issues, ,more curved than a certain supplier of Jota pipes I believe. Centre bike in photo..That or tougher fork springs ;)

I am using original downpipes rechromed, so the curving is probably not the issue, tougher forks would help as well for sure... feelingwise they are too soft... but they have correct run. I measured around 100/110 when balancing the bike with my weight holding the front brakes.
 
I would go with firmer springs for sure though.Also check the length of your springs,my drummers Ceriani ones are longer than 750 ones I got from Keith, ,I"ve seen mods and also suggested by Wolfgang to add solid top spacers like round polyurethene .

There was no "shorter version from a later model". It is also immaterial which way 'round the mudguard bracket is fitted, the loop is symetrical, only the tabs are reversed.

Bloody fork springs are too hard as they are, even harder ones won't bring any joy.

Your frame is bent... get it repaired.
