In the last few years there has appeared on the market a paint protection product that is asserted to be ceramic. It's a clear liquid though, so I don't understand how it can be ceramic.
In any case, I raise this question to learn if anyone here has experience with this stuff. If someone can related their experience....
Also, can this be applied to windscreens? That would seem to be a good use for it, if indeed road kill then simply falls away without the need of elbow grease.

Research shows ceramic coatings are only as good as the time invested in surface prep. Can't expect much longevity or performance from a wipe on product.

Some of the ones that I have seen describe themselves as self cleaning. Not tried it myself but might give it a try soon as I have fresh paint on my truck. Not sure about using it on the windshield though.

 Sounds too good to be true…. more snake oil? A liquid ceramic coating you wipe on….. carmon, we aren’t stupid.

Ceramic coatings really do work, that said IAG wrote it correctly, you need to invest in surface prep. The ceramic coating isnt cheap either, but it is used in the Super yacht industry on both sailing and motor yachts to protect the huge investment in the paint jobs on these boats, which cost in excess of 1 million euros. You get what you pay for, so as Chris says, there will be some snake oil out there, which is true with everything. But Ceramic coating definitely works

To be clear this is not the same product that you would apply and bake onto to your exhaust etc . They share the same name but entirely different products for entirely different purposes. What we are talking about here is a final layer of paint finish.

I agree , totally different

Been using this stuff for leathers. It works.

The responses of those with experience with this product seem to say there are possibilities for success. I've since applied a cheapo on-line sourced version on some alloy wheels as a test mule of sorts. We shall see what happens.
And no, I never intended to address powder coating in any form, which I guess can be lumped in with ceramics. What I'm speaking of is a thin, clear liquid applied with a cloth. No heat or spraying required.
