Ceriani front fork springs

Good morning, Steve,
As Tippie points out, the length of old springs, these ones had me bouncing up and down on them for forty-four years, may be shortened.
My Original springs, from the 38mm Ceriani forks are 500mm.
The Progressive springs, I got from Keith Nairn, are 463mm, the spacers/slugs to go with them, are 40mm. That gives 503mm.
This points toward minimal shortening.
I've got a set of 750 spacers/slugs, too somewhere.
When I find them the Progressive springs, with 18 months/11,650 miles on them, will be available to buy.

I would guess that your current ones are for a set of Marzocchis, which are longer.
Was it a lot of fun trying to get the top caps on with the extra 20mm of spring?

It's a bit academic, you just change the length of the spacer to get the sag you want. As long as it doesn't spring bind before all the travel is used. Getting the correct rate is THE THING.
