Ceriani Shocks

Is there any out there re-building Ceriani shocks? One of mine has decided to part company with the oil. They co-existed quite happily for 40 years or so -  hmm, there's a pattern emerging here?

Long gone that Alpino in Petes" avatar, Maurice, SF1 I believe.

Pete have you tried Alan or even Phil Trotter for a replacement?

I rebuild Cerianis and Marzocchi Stradas.
Includes rechroming the damper rod, spring, repainting, new seals and decals.
Not cheap but should be as good as new.
I have rebuilt quite a few pairs of each type.
PM me if interested. I am in Scotland.

I seem to remember that Ceriani shocks had damping in only 1 direction. Is this right and can you modify them to work both ways?

I rebuild them to standard.
Worked well enough back in the day and work well when rebuilt but will obviously not have the same action as modern shocks.
If you want originality get them restored. If you want whizz bang buy new ones.
In the late 70s and 80s when I rode harder and faster than I do now it was on Cerianis,  Marzocchis, Pirelli Phantoms and even Avon Roadrunners.
Now on POP I have BT016 Pro, Maxton and Wilbers, GSXR wheels and discs, 4 pot calipers and so on. The bike is technically far removed from my early Laverdas, and yet I didn't need all that stuff to go fast then.
Why do we upgrade? Because we can not because we HAVE to.

Thanks Grant,

They are on a '72 SF1. I don't want to change them for a modern shock really, as they're part of the bike's ID.
Can you PM me with a guide cost please.
