CEV direction indicators Jota - threads buggered

Location
Cotwolds
So i took the indicators off to fit Johns Akays rack for a test - taking the orange lenses off produced a mix of self tappers but i can see the threads inside are buggered - are they freely available (the indicator bodies ) at a reasonable price ?

Firstly...don't use self tappers, they are tapered and just expand and crack the plastic..

You can get new  pucker CEV units from Andrew at Mdina Italia, i just searched the world for them and Andrew seems to have the only ones left. That said i expect everyone else knows where to find "the only ones left" in their town as well :) They are about ?35 each but i think he does reproductions at about ?25 as well ?

Cheers

Thanks - Yes saw them when i searched after i posted - was hoping you found a source that wouldnt be quite so expensive - however will try araldite and a greased new screw first - there is still a small depth of thread there, there were 10 stainless screws specifically for Laverda 18343 lenses on ebay for ?6.76  :o which i thought was a bit dear

I've done that. It works OK. You will need to make a little dam out of plasticine or something similar to keep your puddle of epoxy in place.

they come up on Ebay often, patience.or Alan may have some.
Look on eBay Germany. I bought a box of CEV indicator bits 'cos I needed the black ones which are quite a bit harder to find than the chrome ones, don't think I paid all that much. Stalks were a bit of a problem, I ended up having to have one machined.

Bevel Heaven have repros as a reasonable cost, but if yours are originals, with all the correct numbers on the lens, sell them as duke ones, you will be able to buy 20 repros min for one gen duke !
Just a thought.

As someone who has restored bevels and now a 120 Jota  i can promise you Laverda has duke beaten hands down on parts prices so far.:)

Sid, as per the other thread, I actually got them from Lacey Engineering in the UK but they don't have them listed now. I remember it was bloody hard finding them with the chrome body at the time, heaps around with black body but bloody expensive to get plastic chroming done. Was UK92 pounds for 4 indicators at the time.

Well i have 4 new threads created and some nice stainless steel screws coming so fingers crossed - araldite still needs to go rock hard but screws bottom out and dont come out - not so pretty on the inside but fine on the outside - will peel the bluetac off when rock solid - i wanted to keep the originals and rather than shelling out ?70 of her majestys finest ones plus shipping it defo worth a shot after all 180s never vibrate  :D
