Chains and chain conversions

you havent got a Scott triple then?

IIRC this bike had some odd capacity alteration which required a cam chain with a half link, that is to say a cranked link, I may be wrong and it may be another, but a cranked link is always trying to straighten under tension and will usually snap at some point. I could alway (of course) have been returned to conventional dimensions.

I will ask a friend and if positive put you in touch … he is very good with chains and manufactures chain conversions where the original chains are no longer available … i will get back to you

Hi all,

This could be an interesting address for our non available 500 camchains..

Give me details and i will send to him … he built a brand new T160 trident primary drive to replace now unavailable chains

He's in Brisbane …. There is a very capable and sharp laverda guy in Brisbane whos name escapes which is a shame on my memory because i have met him many times… but he is well known over there … perhaps they could meet up .. they live only 20kms from each other ..

This would be a great result, the Brisbane Laverda bloke might be posting here. That description could narrow his name toooo guess who . Quote

I didn't think Cosi lived in Brisbane.

strange because Trident triplex chains are readilly available as are the same thing for Norton Commando, the Norton being a couple pf links longer, they are all the same pitch as the Laverda twin and triple but both of the former come out a bit too long, they can be shortened but you would need to be a bit more than a home mechanic to achieve that.

Duplex chains on T160 and none left. And cannot use a T150 primary because of conflict with crossover shaft and different set up on the cush drive

Was Andy doing kits of Merc chains for Triumph Triple as well? I think he was supplying something similar for Vincents. It would be so great to get past this unavailability of Cam Chain for 4-valve Laverdas if at all possible.
