It`s the June `21 edition of Practical Sportbikes .......... A 650 formula with a Suzuki SV1000 V-twin engine fitted .
I haven`t bothered with pics as with the fairing on it looks just like a ...... ( you`ve guessed ) ......... There`s a picture of an airbox , and a view of a frame side rail with a battery and gen cover poking out , both of which are about as clear as mud , so I haven`t bothered with them either .
The bike was put together in Australia by ex-pat Yorkshireman Chris Hall , with help from his mates Brian Carter and Brett Rostirolla .......
Work included producing a new frame crossmember and shock mounting , as they were in the way of the rear cylinder ..... and a reformed fuel cell , again to make room for the rear cylinder .
SV fuel pump , and SV loom mated to the Laverda ECU , as far as I can make out ..........
Before he left for Australia , Chris mentioned Mike Waugh of Montydons was helpful in getting the bike ( still in 668 form } set up properly .
He allso says it was the handling aspect of the bike he wanted to preserve , and that remains intact with the Suzuki engine fitted .
In it`s original form , it was one of just two hundred made in black , with improved engine mapping and some carbon fibre body panels , apparently .
