Choke cable change

Hi All.
Can someone please give me the rundown on changing the choke cable on a 1000 3cl. I have fitted a new left hand switch with an inbuilt choke lever and am trying to fit the cable to the existing 3 cable joiner. Do you have to disconnect the 3 cables from the carbies. Does the center piece of the joiner come out towards the front of the bike to enable connection. I do not want to bugger it up so all help accepted. Had a look on the site but could not find this exact info.

It would be easier to disconnect the cables from the choke plungers . Will give you more leeway at the splitter.

I fitted the same switch recently and found the cable from the bars to the 3 way splitter to be about 50mm too short so on full lock the choke was coming on.
