Hello im looking to re do the speedo and and rev counter on my Jota and wanted to know which exact Honda CB750 clocks fitted so i can keep my eye out for some . Andy
 
Honda CB 750 items do not fit, different ratio tach drive and idiot lights not present on Honda items.
Why not get the clocks refurbished by reputable service?

Ah OK thanku for clearing that up for me . I just might have too then but not 100% sure just how bad they are as yet as im waiting to get it out of my mates garage where it's sat for a good few years now

The clocks of the CB750 K1 did have the idiot lights, but they indeed had different ratios and.. they are harder to find than the Laverda ones.

That's because there's so many people out there restoring the silly things.
Or looking to make a quick buck.

I used to know a guy called Neil Williams, near Abergavenny, who restored these instruments. Have lost contact with him, but someone on here - Wayne, for instance, might know him. Otherwise there’s a great company in Christchurch NZ that does a fantastic job but not much use to you.

As always, it would be helpful to know where on the planet you are!
As stated, Honda or whatever clocks are not suitable. If by chance you should be located in Europe, George Bouret in the Netherlands would be your best choice. Then you’d just need to define „cheap“, you gets wot you pays for…

You are right Marnix! I thought of the early K1 clocks, but haven't seen any for sale in the classifieds in ages.
IIRC the backs of the ND are different as well, and some have the trip reset knob on the side.
George Bouret in the Netherlands is my recommendation as well.

I used George recently for my Jota clocks restoration...he does the works, so restored damping to the needles, and now I can't stop staring at the speedo Not dancing the Jota😁Watch out for the additional duties I was hammered with..the insurance value I gave to DHL got used as the basis for duties and they didn't get that they were not for export but for repair and return.George was a pleasure to deal with.

I don't think there will be any cheap way to sort the clocks unless you do it yourself with used parts. It's a shame you missed that auction, there was even a tool for crimping them back together which I always find difficult. Even if you do that they will probably operate like windscreen wipers.
